Baptism
Baptism is understood as the total annulment of the sin of one’s past and the emergence of a totally innocent person. The newly baptized person becomes a member of the church.
El bautismo es entendido como la anulación del pecado original y el surgimiento de un ser inocente. Los recién bautizados se convierten en miembros de nuestra iglesia.
First Communion
Receiving, for the first time, the body and blood of Jesus Christ. By continuing to receive Holy Communion for the rest of their lives, Catholics become one with Christ.
Se recibe por primera vez el cuerpo y la sangre de cristo. Esto permite a las personas participar de la eucaristía por el resto de su vida.
Confirmation
Is the sacrament by which Catholics receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit gives them the increased ability to practice their Catholic faith in every aspect of their lives.
En la confirmación los miembros de la iglesia católica reciben una gracia especial del espíritu santo.
Mediante este sacramento se otorga una mayor capacidad para practicar su fe católica en todos los aspectos de sus vidas.
Matrimony
The Sacrament of Marriage is a lasting commitment of a man and a woman to a lifelong partnership, established for the good of each other and the procreation of their children.
El Sacramento del Matrimonio es un compromiso duradero de un hombre y una mujer a una sociedad de por vida, establecida para el bien del otro y la procreación de sus hijos.
Confessions
In Confession, we are recounting our sins to the priest who acts in the person of Christ and with the authority of Jesus to listen, offer guidance, provide proper penance, and pronounce the words of absolution.
En Confesión, estamos contando nuestros pecados al sacerdote que actúa en la persona de Cristo y con la autoridad de Jesús para escuchar, ofrecer orientación, proporcionar una penitencia adecuada y pronunciar las palabras de absolución.
Anointing the Sick
According to Catholic doctrine, this sacrament serves as a channel for special graces from God that comfort and heal, physically and/or spiritually, people who are seriously ill and in danger of death.
Según la doctrina católica, este sacramento sirve como canal de gracias especiales de Dios que confortan y sanan, física y/o espiritualmente, a las personas que se encuentran gravemente enfermas y en peligro de muerte.
